Day 103 – God’s Bridge

Elevenses with a view – God’s Bridge, where the Pennine Way crosses the River Greta, named after Greta Thunberg. (Ok, I made that bit up.) The bridge is natural, caused by Greta slowly boring her way through the limestone over the millennia – or as Wikipedia puts it in a slightly more highfalutin way ‘shallow cave development by solutional activity.’

Either way, a beautiful spot to rest for bread and jam and a pot of tea. Here Lego Marchbanks is sharing his with Gordon Hatton, who was kind enough to take the picture. Photo © him (cc-by-sa/2.0)
